Matt Thomas | President & CEO
Matt Thomas brings a broad background of executive leadership to his role as President and CEO of JP3 Measurement, where he is responsible for its management team, the company’s vision and strategy, and its business development activities. He brings over 20 years of experience in technology-based ventures and growth companies across the semiconductor, optics, and PC markets. Prior to joining JP3 in 2012, Mr. Thomas was the co-founder and CEO of Illumitex, an Austin-based LED company serving the lighting and horticulture industries. He previously held executive and management positions at the Southeastern Universities Research Association (SURA) in Washington, DC; Sydcor Enterprises, a supplier to Dell Computer; and Applied Science Fiction, which was acquired by Kodak. Mr. Thomas began his career at the 3M Company in a design engineering role. He holds BS and MS degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.
Paul Little | Founder & CTO
Paul Little founded JP3 Measurement in 2005 in response to a recognized lack of analytical equipment that could survive harsh South Texas environments as well as provide valuable data to the demanding oil & gas production infrastructure. As CTO of JP3, Mr. Little is responsible for ensuring the technology roadmap serves and supports the company’s business strategy and for developing applications that utilize the unique aspects of optical measurement technologies in order to increase the customer’s operational efficiencies. Prior to founding JP3, Mr. Little was final test manager at Applied Materials and at Wolfe Engineering, both semiconductor manufacturing companies in the Silicon Valley. Mr. Little holds Bachelor’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration from The University of Texas at Austin.
Charles De Tarr | CFO
Charles De Tarr has over 25 years of executive experience building and selling startups as well as turning around established companies. As CFO, director and key investor in Ideal Power, Mr. De Tarr successfully helped the firm go from its conception to a successful IPO in late 2013, with a market cap of approximately $82 million two years later. He successfully founded, owned and operated a telecommunications contracting company and has been successful as a CFO in a variety of businesses, including water filtration technologies for the natural gas industry; telecommunications; security systems; wireless cable TV; electronic metering data collection and warehousing; and publishing and distribution. Mr. De Tarr holds an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of Business and a BS in Business Administration from Ithaca College (New York). He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA).
James Dixson | Chief Data Solutions Officer
James Dixson brings to JP3 over 25 years of engineering, operational and leadership experience in the technology industry. He has been responsible for the development, manufacturing, delivery and support of a diverse range of products. Over his career he as working in areas such as carrier-class telecommunications, cloud computing, enterprise systems management, enterprise application platforms, voice-over-IP, consumer electronics, cloud gaming, video streaming, enterprise messaging, SaaS services, e-commerce and factory automation. He has played key roles in a number of start technology companies. Several of his startups have been successfully acquired as a result of his technology leadership: Metreos by Cisco, Spawn Labs by GameStop, and most recently Rambler On by YETI Coolers. Mr. Dixson holds a patent in secure VOIP technology and has co-authored multiple scientific and professional papers. In addition to work in the private sector, he was a Signal Officer in the Texas Army National Guard. Mr. Dixson graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a BA in Astronomy.
Gregg Williams | Senior VP Sales
Gregg Williams is responsible for the sales and customer facing project delivery organizations and activities within JP3 Measurement. Mr. Williams brings to the company more than 30 years of proven leadership in sales, marketing and project management across a range of large multi-national as well as smaller privately held companies. Prior to joining the company in 2015, Mr. Williams served as Vice President and General Manager at Toptech Systems, the global leader in terminal automation systems for the refined fuels market Mr. Williams has previously held positions as Vice President of Professional Services for Pavilion Technologies, an advanced process controls company delivering model based predictive controls to the process industries; Global Group Senior Vice President of Marketing and Services for the Automation Segment of ABB Inc.; and various sales and sales leadership roles at Rosemount Inc. (Emerson Electric Co.). Mr. Williams earned his BS degree in Chemistry from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC.
Daniel Stanley | VP Engineering
Dan Stanley leads and directs the development of JP3’s new products and applications, which includes all aspects of design, engineering and integration for all new products from product conceptualization to market launch. Dan brings 35 years of proven product design and development experience to JP3. Previously, as Director of R&D at Alcon Laboratories, Dan led teams that produced innovative, best-in-class optical devices for applications in the medical device arena. His teams developed and launched a new intraocular lens product line capturing dominant global market share and increasing gross revenues to over $1B per year. Dan’s areas of expertise include product design, design analysis and computer simulation, materials development, process design and development (certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt), and project management with PMP certification. Dan is inventor/co-inventor on seven issued patents. He was a commended officer in the USAF. Dan has an MS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Dayton, and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington.
